Last week Saturday, a video surfaced on social media showing a dramatic scene at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos. In the footage, a woman, identified as Favour Igiebor, appeared to have torn her husband’s passport, causing a commotion at the airport.
In the clips, torn pieces of papers were strewn on the floor as the woman strutted away defiantly with her children, leaving the husband simply referred to as King seemingly distraught.
Reacting to the development, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) said it has launched a formal investigation into the destruction of the Nigerian passport.
The NIS said her actions would have constituted a breach of the law, with corresponding penalties, if the allegations were substantiated.

Favour, however, broke her silence on the matter, claiming that she has been “suffering in my marriage for years”. She also accused her husband and his family of oppression.
In a fresh video on Wednesday, the husband revealed that the entire event “was staged and a skit”.
King claimed the document that was torn at the airport was a “fake” and that what happened was a re-enactment of a real-life situation.
The husband appealed to the authorities and the public, saying: “We cannot defy the law of Nigeria”.
“She never tore my passport, my passport is intact. This is someone’s story that we are passing to the world,” King said.
Are The Igiebors Skit Makers?
As it turns out, the lovebirds are content creators who operate Jejoja Family TV on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.
The Nigerian family of five resides in Montevarchi, Italy. The couple often features their three little kids in their skits.
Through their online platforms, they share a variety of skits, pranks, and other relatable videos with their audiences.
Checks by TheCable Lifestyle on Jejoja Family TV’s social media handles showed short videos highlighting cultural significance, skits on a typical Nigerian family and parenting, and even infidelity. It also captures the humour in everyday situations that Nigerians could identify with.
The couple’s first content on Instagram was shared on April 15, 2024. With a following of nearly 5,000, their page grid is filled with videos of back-and-forth banter between them.
A recent post shows the wife returning home from a trip only to discover that her husband is engaged in an extramarital affair.

In another video, Favour wore a blue towel and high-heeled shoes while carrying a luxury bag. She was about to leave their house when King inquired why she chose to dress in such an outfit.
“Madam, where are you going to dress like this?” he asked. “Where am I going to? I am going out,” she replied.
“You don’t mean it,” he fired back as she insisted, “Oga, I am going out”.
The pair then engaged in a heated conversation with Favour expressing her anger, saying: “now I am no longer thinking straight anymore… because of all the thing you are doing since we came to this place”. She also asked, “Is it fair?”
“Let me go out so that people will know that I am a mad woman because I am no longer thinking straight,” she added while her husband tried to convince her to change the outfit.
Towards the end of the video, Favour broke down in tears while alleging infidelity. “King, you hurt me,” she said amid tears as her husband made an effort to placate her.

Their TikTok account, which has over 17,000 followers and 75,000 likes is a mix of playful skits, trends, and marriage-related content.
Their first video on the platform was posted in May 2023. The lovers frequently share their daily lives while adding their spin on viral content.
The couple’s YouTube channel, created in July 2023, has about 100 subscribers and 37 videos. The platform, although not active, showcases long-form pranks and games. Video titles on the channel include ‘Warning to my wife’, and ‘What a game’.
Jejoja Family TV on Facebook was created in April 2023. The page has more than 35,000 followers. The couple shares everything — from funny family interactions to elaborate practical jokes.
The “passport-tearing” incident might just be the latest in a series of dramatic and attention-grabbing stunts the lovebirds have up their sleeves.
The Jejoja Family, who may have been looking for their big breakthrough as content creators, found it — although in questionable and unconvincing circumstances.
Favour was reportedly arrested in Lagos and transported to Abuja for interrogation.
Lanre Issa-Onilu, director-general (DG) of the agency, earlier condemned Igiebor’s action, saying mutilating the passport is an assault on the symbol and identity of Nigeria.
Like the NIS, the NOA DG said the agency would “investigate and prosecute such breach in line with section 10 (B) of the Immigration Act 2015 as a deterrence to those who may willfully damage an important national symbol”.
He appealed to Nigerians to “continue to show respect for the national symbols as part of our patriotic commitment to national development”.
