Destiny Etiko, Nigerian actress, says she would hold a befitting burial for Etiko John Anonde, her late father, when the dust surrounding the coronavirus pandemic is over.
In line with the federal government’s social distancing directive to combat spread of the COVID-19, large gathering of any sort has been banned.
The development has altered how several social activities such as wedding ceremonies, funerals among others were previously done.
In a post on her social media page, the gifted actress disclosed that the remains of her late father was laid to rest on Friday. She, however, did not reveal the cause of his death.
Destiny would also promise to commemorate his demise properly when things are back to normal after the pandemic.
She went on to appreciate those who had stood by her during the trying times, expressing her love for them.
“Etiko John Anonde has been laid to rest today and it was a success. After COVID-19 will have the proper funeral done,” she wrote on Instagram.

“I want to use this medium to say thank you to everyone who came and also reached out to me during this sad time….I truly and sincerely appreciate and everyone of you. I love you all.”
The movie star had earlier announced the demise of her father, pointing out the development left her “shattered.”
“I’m so pained. Am so broken, am devastated. It’s as if my life is shattered. The world is wicked. I still can’t believe that the man who gave me life is gone,” she had posted on Instagram.
