Agoro opened up about her decade-long failed relationship in response to an X post on the importance of calling off engagements if doubts arise.

She said she ended her engagement about two months before the planned wedding.

The entrepreneur recalled that when she was almost 30, she realised she was marrying for the “wrong reasons” and chose to prioritise her well-being over societal expectations.

The 41-year-old added that it was “one of the best decisions of my life”.

“I was going to clock 30 and I don’t know who put it in my head that I had to be married at that time or it would be socially unacceptable to be unmarried at 30,” she wrote.

“Broke off my engagement two months to the wedding. Broke things off without thinking of all of that and returned everyone’s aso ebi money. I was getting married for the wrong reasons and I just couldn’t continue. I made one of the best decisions of my life.”
