Ibrahim Suleiman, the Nollywood actor and TV presenter, has revealed that someone he considered a friend once cost him a movie role.
The 38-year-old, who is also a visual artist, brought the revelation to light in a Twitter post on Sunday.
Suleiman said his “friend” had gone to meet the producer of the movie he was expected to feature in at the time, and convinced the filmmaker to remove him from the project.
“Found out that someone I consider my friend literally talked a producer into not considering me for a role” he wrote.

Although Suleiman did not mention the person’s name, the actor said he made the post ahead of possible conversation about the matter in the future.
“I am tweeting this per I know you’ll see it. So that the day you cry wolf I will quote tweet this. And everybody go face front. Till then, I am kuku fully booked,” he wrote in a mixture of English and Pidgin.
When quizzed on the veracity of his claim in the comment section of the post, he wrote: “Lol no worry, all bases are covered and the person(s) the tweet is for ha (s/ve) acknowledged receipt thereof. I do not tweet this sort of things often, but when I do it is always double checked and fact checked.”
Suleiman began his career in the entertainment industry as a dancer before he later delved into acting.
Since his acting debut, he has starred in several movies as well as TV series including ‘Tinsel’ where he met Linda Ihuoma Ejiofor, his wife and co-actor.
The actor tied the knot with Ejiofor in 2018 and welcomed their first child together in July last year.
