David Ibiyeomie, a televangelist and senior pastor of Salvation Ministries, has sparked arguments on social media platforms over threats he issued to Daddy Freeze, a radio personality, for criticising David Oyedepo.
In an undated video currently trending on social media, the cleric can be seen during a church service, threatening to ‘kill’ the OAP for his incessant criticism of the presiding bishop of Living Faith Church.
“Insult me, I won’t comment but insult Oyedepo… that b**tard, any day I hear you talk about him… Do they know his (Freeze’s) father? Does Daddy Freeze have a father? Who’s his father?” Ibiyeomie asked.
“That half-caste who is born by a Somalian? The day I hear him insult Oyedepo, I’ll deal with him. Oyedepo may not talk but I can’t be alive and you’d insult my father. I can’t take it.
Ibiyeomie’s strong-worded message to Freeze has however provoked a debate on social media platforms especially Twitter, where users are registering their different opinions.
While some users condemned the cleric’s outburst others argued that he is “human and has feelings”.
“Where is your Anoithing man of God? In as much I don’t agree with daddy freeze this man is not a man of God but a man of man…how can u speak In this manner from the pulpit u no even respect God. How una see am,” Samklef asked.
“If you can’t take someone insulting your father then you have no right to judge David Ibiyome for attacking Daddy Freeze who repeatedly insults David Oyedepo. Pastors are men of God not God so they have the right to address issues that hurt them,” another user said.
Here is what some Nigerians had to say:

I really do hope daddy freeze reports this guy for threatening his life in a congregation. Because this is being plain stupid. https://t.co/vCJ09T8xW3

My issues with religion aren't solely because i don't believe in it. Just look at what it does to people's thinking. Pastor Ibiyeomie is there cursing & threatening Daddy Freeze. I was expecting him to engage Freeze & prove him wrong logically. But he started acting like Agbero.

We all know Daddy Freeze is a clout chaser but pastor David Ibiyeomie calling someone a bastard on the pulpit???? Nah

All of you have Pastors today because of men like Martin Luther who stood up to the almighty pope and the doctrines of the Catholic church.
If Daddy Freeze (a Christian) criticizes your Pastor, focus more on the context of his criticism and not defending your almighty pastor

Daddy Freeze is a clout chaser who stays relevant only by "replying" Oyedepo. Let him do same to Muslim clerics and they'll have him killed.

Ever since Daddy Freeze has been preaching against men of God.. What has he done to contribute positively to the society, other than make noiseless noise… He should focus on his family Abeg.. pic.twitter.com/KCx8OxQ7O1

Not making excuse for his behaviour. But Daddy Freeze that he is talking about insults everyone especially when they have opposing views. Well sometimes you fight Fire with Fire… And at the end of everything we are humans first and not infallible… Au revoir https://t.co/mScZ26Iqel

Daddy Freeze will open his mouth waaaaaaaaa and spit nonsense against servants of God. Whether they are legit or not, that's left for God to decide. Who is he to insult Oyedepo?
And some of you forming woke will continue to praise him, may you all rot in your mediocrity!

Pastor Ibiyeomie… 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
Whatever you think about Daddy Freeze, and I have my issues with him. One of the good things he's been able to achieve is to demystify these gods of men. Little pressure and their unchrist-like nature shines thru.
So 'broadcaster' no bi work again? pic.twitter.com/7CJNjxlZHe— Wale Gates (@walegates) September 6, 2020
“I curse the day he was born”
“He’s a bastard”This is no man of God. This only proves Daddy Freeze right. You can’t tell me you are a man of God and be comfortably raining curses on someone. Is that Christ like? Is that what your Bible teaches? https://t.co/tHpVV0WSon

Daddy Freeze thinks he's catching cruise, men of God are releasing curses on his head like this. When the repercussions started, I won't join any gofundme – it will be a waste anyway!!

In all these Daddy Freeze and Ibiyeomie talk, please remember that both of them are anointed men of God who own churches (free the sheeple and Salvation Ministries) and people like us who have not been called should mind our business.
Let us not atlact curses to ourselves pic.twitter.com/cQWYWpFNVo— npugochi💛💜 (@npugochi) September 7, 2020
Even if Daddy Freeze happens to be an authority on Islamic studies, he wouldn't "attack" Islam & Islamic leaders the way he's going about it with the Church & their leaders.
Tolerance is the word, not expertise.
The church has always been a soft target, especially in Nigeria.— #TPACT Mazi @FestusGreen 🇳🇬 (@FestusGreen) September 7, 2020
