The Grammy-winning music star broke the news on Instagram without revealing the reason behind his decision.

“I might decide to not drop an album for a long time. In fact, you know what, no album till further notice,” he said.

Burna Boy’s decision comes on the heels of his collaborative single with Jon Bellion, American music producer.

He has achieved a great deal in music since he came into prominence in 2012 after ‘Like to Party’, his hit song.

The ‘African Giant’ crooner has five albums, including ‘L.I.F.E.’, ‘On A Spaceship’, ‘Outside’, and ‘Twice As Tall’.

He received international acclaim after he snagged the ‘Best World Music Album’ gong at the 2021 Grammys.

Burna Boy announcement

After his historic Grammy win, Burna Boy had said: “It was almost as if I’ve broken a mental cycle of our people.

“Because our people have been very mentally oppressed to feel like they can’t do certain things and that certain things are unreachable. You are what you think, at the end of the day.

“[It is] time to start thinking about ourselves, not what the society said we should be or what our limitations say we should be. I’ve come from Port Harcourt, the bottom of the map in Nigeria, and now I’ve become a champion.

“It may not mean anything to someone else, but to me, and to us, it means more than you can imagine. Every day I realise more that things are bigger than me. I have to think for a whole generation before I think for myself.”
