Regina Chukwu, the Nollywood actress, has opened up about her near-death experience with malaria.

The movie star took to her Instagram page on Wednesday to narrate how she thought she was going to die.

Chukwu said the illness was the “gift” she came back with from her movie location.

“That was the gift I came back with from location. I tot I was gonna die! Never felt this sick before, [in] my whole life. Malaria is truly a killer disease. Recuperating and I am thankful,” she wrote.

Public figures including Aisha Lawal, Lola Magret, Wumi Toriola, and Arike Gold took to the comment section of the post to wish her a quick recovery.

Born in 1980, Chuwku is both an actress and a movie producer who hails from Enugu state.

She started her career as a make-up artist in 2003 before delving fully into acting.

Her first movie was ‘Ogunsho’ and this was followed by ‘Idaro’.

Chukwu has starred in numerous movies such as ‘Akun’, ‘Awolu ati Awalu’, and ‘Ewatomi’, among others.
