The woman spotted in a viral video feeding a baby with what appeared to be an alcoholic drink has broken her silence, saying it “was Coca-Cola”.
Last week, the Nigeria_Police_Force (NPF) launched an investigation after the clip circulated online with a disturbing caption: “Every night just for her to sleep”.
Many Nigerians expressed outrage, assuming the baby was being given the Action Bitters to induce drowsiness.
However, in a new video, the unidentified woman defended herself, claiming the footage was staged for entertainment.
The lady argued that she had washed out an empty Action Bitters sachet and filled it with Coca-Cola before filming.
To support her claim, she said she had another video showing the moment she filled the sachet with the soft drink.
The woman admitted the stunt was meant to generate engagement but acknowledged it backfired.
“Please Nigerians, I only picked an Action Bitters sachet, washed it, and put Coca-Cola inside before giving it to my daughter.”

“About the video I posted earlier, that is not Action Bitters. It is Coke. I poured Coke into the sachet. Since I posted the video, people have been dragging me on social media,” she said.
“To be sincere, it was Coke I poured into the Action Bitters sachet. I even have a video on my phone showing when I was doing it.
“My baby is just five months old. I would never give her Action Bitters. I am not that kind of mother. I do not even take it myself.
“To clear the air, it was Coke I poured into the sachet, and I washed it before using it. I was just trying to create content, nothing more. We are begging Nigerians, please forgive us.”
