Inetimi Alfred Odon, the Nigerian singer better known as Timaya, has called on the government to take action against herders’ alleged destruction of farms in Bayelsa.
In a post via X, the ‘Dem Mama’ hitmaker expressed frustration over the open grazing issue, which has destroyed farms in his home state.
He also urged the government to intervene while adding that the situation is “so sad”.
“Pls, the government should do something. They are destroying farms in Bayelsa, Aboki take your cow inside and feed them. This is so sad,” the post reads.

However, Timaya’s post received mixed reactions from X users. Some praised him for speaking out against the issue, while others criticized him for his past association with the ruling government.
An X user identified as Irunnia wrote: “You are now complaining because the insecurity touched you and your people? Use the money you collected from APC to hire vigilantes for Bayelsa state”.
“I don’t understand why would someone bring his cow come to my land and eat my farm? Na ment?” another user added.
Here are some other reactions from X users:
It’s really heartbreaking to see this happen. The government needs to step in and protect the farmers—this is beyond frustrating! The situation is getting out of hand, and it’s affecting livelihoods. Something needs to be done urgently.
