Helen Paul, a comedian and actress, will team up with Keppy Ekpenyong Bassey, veteran Nollywood star, to host the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards.
The awards ceremony will take place on December 9 in Oyo state.
The 2018 edition of BON Awards will mark a decade of celebrating highfliers in the Nigerian movie industry.
According to a statement from Seun Oloketuyi, chief executive officer of BON Awards, “a lot of creative contributions have gone into the event’s preparation, to make it a memorable 10 years celebration”.
The duo of Ekpeyong and Paul will thrill guests to “an evening of class” at the gala night and ball-themed event.
Abiola Ajimobi, governor of Oyo, will be a special guest of honour at the event which is sponsored by the state government.
Among the 34 categories at the awards are the keenly contested ‘Best Actor in a Leading Role’ (English and Yoruba) and ‘Best Actress in a Leading Role’ (English and Yoruba).
Ramsey Nouah, Femi Branch, Kelechi Udegbe are among the six nominated in the best actor (English) category.
In the Yoruba movie genre, Femi Adebayo, Ninalowo Bolanle, Lateef Adedimeji and Yemi Solade are nominated for best actor in a leading role.
‘We Don’t Live Here Anymore’, a movie by Tope Oshin, was the highest nominated, raking in 11 nominations in different categories.
