Happy Valentine — from Lagos with love

To love and be loved is an eternal source of inspiration. On Valentine’s Day, we celebrate our sweethearts, lovers, wives, and husbands. Asking “Will you be my valentine?” is like asking “Will you go out with me?” and saying “I like you.” Sending a card is a common way to let someone know you want to be their valentine.

At Eyes of a Lagos Boy, we move with the times and so out goes the traditional postcard. Here is a special little video produced by Sandra Alonge for all you lovers out there. Send it to anyone you want to know you care, that she/he is unique and has that special place in your heart.

‘Unique’, the soundtrack is by Jeff Diamondz, an Abuja-based artist whose voice will make your baby swoon over the sweet lyrics that come straight from his soul. The track is one of Bolaji Alonge’s favorites. It remains to be discovered by the public at large and this seemed like the perfect time to get it out there.

We also have some virtual flowers for you. The images in the video are by Alonge and drawn from his “Street Flowers of Lagos” collection. They are splashes of intense colour and emotions. He uses macro photography to show the inner world of street flowers of Lagos. These flowers grow in city gardens and sidewalks in between the dirt and rubble. They symbolize the beauty of nature, both fragile and strong at the same time. Together with Lagosians, they stand proudly in the midst of the urban jungle. “Street Flowers of Lagos”  are forever immortalized in hi-gloss acrylic and canvas Limited Edition Prints by Eyes of a Lagos Boy.
