Halle Berry, the Hollywood star, and Olivier Martinez have officially finalised their divorce after eight years.
Berry and Martinez, a French actor, filed for divorce in 2015 after just over two years of marriage.
“It is with a heavy heart that we have come to the decision to divorce,” they had written in a joint statement.
“We move forward with love and respect for one another and the shared focus of what is best for our son.
“We wish each other nothing but happiness in life and we hope that you respect our and, most importantly, our children’s privacy as we go through this difficult period.”
The legal proceedings, however, stretched for more than seven years.
But according to court documents filed on Tuesday, the actress will pay nearly $8,000 in monthly child support for their 9-year-old son, Maceo.
TMZ reports that Berry will also pay Martinez 4.3% on any income she makes that exceeds $2 million.
The film star is responsible for their son’s private school tuition, extracurricular activities, health insurance and therapist.
It is believed that Berry agreed to pay Martinez back for any of these costs from the 2023/2024 school year.
The divorce judgment also requires Martinez to take “reasonable action” in finding employment and contributing to Maceo.
Aside from Maceo, the Oscar winner is mother to daughter Nahla Ariela, 15, with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, whom she split from in 2010.
