Guchi, the fast-rising Nigerian singer, says TikTok is amplifying her music and giving her a unique way to engage with her global audience.
Speaking at a recent event held at the Maison Fahrenheit Hotel in Lagos, Guchi said TikTok helped her to “level the playing field as an independent artiste on the road to global stardom”.
The singer said artistes can make use of the social media platform to “break boundaries and share the uniqueness of Afrobeats” with the world.
Guchi said through TikTok, she has been able to showcase her passion, creativity, and originality to the world without “losing the essence of my Afrobeats roots”.
“I am humbled and grateful for the love and support I have received on TikTok,” she said.
“The platform has allowed me to connect with fans from all over the world, and their creativity never ceases to amaze me.
“TikTok has truly amplified my music and provided me with a unique way to engage with my audience.”
Munya Vomo, content partnerships lead music at TikTok Sub-Saharan Africa, described the platform as a “stage where anyone with talent, passion, and creativity can shine”.
“We are thrilled to see artists like Guchi flourish on TikTok. On Notice Me, as with each of her releases, multitudes of TikTok users, once again, connected with her music by interpreting it through their own content on the platform,” Vomo said.
“Through her music, talent, and engaging content, she embodies the creative spirit of TikTok and continues to leave an indelible mark on the platform’s vibrant community.
“Musicians reside at the heart of TikTok’s vibrant community, and our commitment lies in empowering both established and emerging artists to realise their full potential.
“Our platform offers them a dynamic space to experiment, innovate, and connect with fans like never before.”
In 2021, Guchi released her debut single titled ‘Jennifer’.
She has also put out a plethora of songs to the resounding applause of her ever-growing fan base — most especially on TikTok.
