Grace Lokwa, the Congolese singer who came to be known for his viral hit ‘Kumama’, has been signed to a label.
Moses Bliss, the gospel artiste, announced on Monday that the singer would now join the label Spotlight Nation.
He was speaking at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja where a conference unveiled all the signees of Spotlite Nation.
On how Lokwa got signed, Bliss said it all happened when the Congolese singer messaged him on social media.
Bliss, who is the CEO, said the label is out to saturate the world with gospel music and build a community.
“We want a community that is saturated with healthy music especially because of our children and the people coming after us,” the singer said.
“The Lord put this thing in my heart since I was a teenager and I said to God if he can help me, I will create opportunities for people who are equally gifted to find expression.”
Asked if an all-star album is in the works, Bliss said the label has a tradition for releasing a joint musical project.
“We just dropped the banger of the year and we’re saying it with our full chest. It is titled ‘Miracle no dey tire Jesus’ and the song is tearing everywhere,” the label boss added.
Grace Lokwa is famous for his smashing hit ‘Kumama’ which became a popular background soundtrack on TikTok.
The song also gained traction on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms.
Lokwa, who spoke in French during the press conference, said he is excited to work with the record label.
