The post has stirred widespread concern on social media about the singer’s mental health, with some users suggesting it could be a publicity stunt for his upcoming album, given his reputation for intense, depression-themed music.

In 2022, Omah Lay revealed how he battled with depression while recording ‘Boy Alone’, his debut album.

In June 2025, his manager Muyiwa Awoniyi also announced the end of his professional relationship with the singer.

Born Stanley Omah Didia, Omah Lay started his music career at the age of 15.
