Glory Osei and Muyiwa Folorunsho, Nigerian entrepreneurs, have taken centre stage on Twitter after their alleged former employees accused them of fraud and maltreatment.
The Lagos-based entrepreneurs are said to be the CEOs of Divergent Enterprise, which operates a number of businesses including Landlagos, PorkMoney, Hyberfactory and Porkoyum, among other companies.
Trouble started on Monday morning after a lady (Ada) shared her experience with the employers, who she said, hire staff, maltreat them and fire them without pay.
In a series of tweets, Ada explained how the duo defrauded some of their clients and how they have kept the knowledge of their marriage away from the public.
However, in a swift rebuttal, Osei claimed that she has “never mistreated any staff”.
She added that her “social media personality” was deliberate because “I do like to keep certain aspects of my life very private”.
“For those who are unhappy with my perceived treatment of them while working for me, I sincerely apologize, and I do hope that over time, as you venture into creating businesses of yours that you get to understand why some things however unpalatable are totally necessary if one is to survive as a business owner in Nigeria,” she wrote.
Her statement did not help matters as some Nigerians have taken to the microblogging platform to register their different opinions on the scandal.
“Many of your parents, uncles, friends, and religious leaders are like Gloria Osei and Muyiwa Folorunso. Many of you are towing that path too. Just know that the sweat of the people you cheat to shine either as an employer or an online vendor will not let you rest,” a user wrote.
Here’s what some Nigerians had to say:

Hehehehe so Glory Osei is a married woman but spits venomous tweets about men. Well thank God I've reached the stage of my life where what I read or see doesn't move me. I pity vulnerable girls they deceive here. 😄

Glory Osei is on the chopping table for hiring and firing employees. If we decide to really shake this table, many of your MCMs won’t survive the tsunami😊

Glory Osei and Muyiwa are what happens in an unregulated labour market where employees are taken advantage of & made to beg to be paid for job done especially in the private sector. It is the sad reality of the day in this part of the world & a nightmare that must be stopped.

Remember when I got a Job Interview in 2017 then I decided to type the company name on Nairaland & Found out they were scam. They exposed Glory Osei & Muyiwa 5 years ago. If NairaLand says it's Scam, it is definitely Scam…

Glory Osei case hurts me because I had my share of private firm ruthlessness . You work & they withhold salary , making you live in suffering, totally overruling labour laws . One day I will share my case of how I worked for TSTV & how they are still owing me +- N587,000 .

Glory Osei and Muyiwa have been exposed on Nairaland since nah. I have said it before that Nairaland should be our own Twitter and even more, but Seun is sleeping on it. There is no information you need that is not on there. Even FBI traced Invictus Obi using info from Nairaland.

Folorunsho is a big scam always having to change company every now and then.. from Enterfrica to porkmoney and doing interviews with John dumelo telling stupid lies about his company.. he sacks his employee every 6months with no reasonable excuse. @glory_osei God be with you pic.twitter.com/S6VH5yLlyh

Glory Osei's husband, Muyiwa Folorunso is on a World Tour on his IG. From Madrid, Spain to Italy to Amsterdam, The Netherlands to the UAE to Bali, Indonesia to Hong Kong, but he doesn't want to pay workers, so he fires them almost every month & gets new ones. You hate to see it.

The gist about Gloria Osei & Máyọ̀wá reminds me of Elizabeth Holmes. Faking it till you make is a dangerous ideology when misapplied.
I'm sure there are many Holmes in Nigeria operating on different levels, living fraudulent lives and posing as genuine brands on SM. Crazy!
