The second episode of the Glo Battle of the Year Nigeria, a talent reality TV show, is set to begin this weekend with contestants jostling for the grand prize.

The first episode of the show premiered on February 5 and featured amazing dance moves and heated dramas.

In a statement sent to TheCable Lifestyle, the organisers said viewers should anticipate more thrilling moments in the show’s second episode which is the quarterfinal stages.

According to the statement, episode two would see two members of the same dance crew go against each other.

“Episode 2 of the show bears out the saying that all is fair in love and war as two brothers battle it out in Kaduna in a delightful case of sibling rivalry; two members of the same dance crew go head-to-head in Lagos; a past winner of the Battle of the Year Nigeria is almost vanquished in Kaduna while in Benin a coup almost leads to the toppling of the president of the dancers association,” it read.

JC Jedor, one of the judges, said “energy, precision, skills and clean execution plus a battle ready mindset” are major qualities that would determine the eventual winners of the contest.

Commenting on the premiere episode, Globacom, the show’s sponsor, said: “the response has been overwhelmingly positive. We are getting downloads of our GloTv app and heavy traction on social media.

“This is proof that young Nigerians are interested in seeing how these talents are being empowered to achieve their dreams fame, fortune and global domination.”

Winners across the various categories of the contest are expected to get a total cash prize of N84 million and a chance to represent Nigeria at the global stage of the competition.
