CNN reports that the 33-year-old had rented a boat on Wednesday at the Lake Piru, north-west of Los Angeles, but the Ventura County Sheriff’s office is now assuming a case drowning.

“Authorities say Rivera rented a pontoon boat with her toddler on Lake Piru in Ventura around 1pm. About three hours later, another boater discovered the Ponto drifting with Rivera’s son asleep in it and unharmed on board,” CNN reported.

“Police say the four-year-old had a life vest on and an adult life vest was found on the boat. The boy told police that he and his mother went swimming but she did not get back on the boat.

“Authorities launched aerial and underwater searches and they say there is no evidence of foul play at this point. They believe that she drowned.”

Two days before the incident occurred, Rivera posted a picture of her and her son in an embrace with “just the two of us” as the caption.

Rivera had begun her career as a child actress and model, appearing in TV commercials in the US. As a four-year-old, she starred in the Royal Family sitcom while making other TV appearances.

News of her going missing comes after Shad Gaspard, a former WWE star, was found dead a few days after he was caught in a riptide while swimming with his son at the Venice Beach in LA.
