DJ Cuppy, a Nigerian disc jockey (DJ), says she will be suing Afeare Isreal, an aide to Davido, over claims that she “owes” Zlatan Ibile, a singer.

The spotlight has continued to beam on the 28-year-old DJ ever since she opened up on her strained relationship with Zlatan.

In 2019, Cuppy, whose real name is Florence Otedola, had enlisted Zlatan for ‘Gelato‘, a hit song, while the street singer also performed at the DJ’s charity event held in November that same year.

But months after the collaboration, their friendship seemed to have suffered a setback after the 28-year-old revealed that Zlatan blocked her on social media.

Zlatan also shocked fans last month when he claimed he “does not know” Cuppy.

Amid the dust trailing the pair’s strained relationship, Isreal had claimed that Zlatan’s action was because the disc jockey did not “duly reward” him for his contributions to the success of ‘Gelato’.

“Kudos to someone like Zlatan, who took a bold step by flushing a full fake friend like Cuppy who was just using his head all in the name of my papa na Otedola. Zlatan did a hit collabo with her, ordinary one kobo, he no see,” he had alleged.

But in a Twitter post on Monday, Cuppy described Israel’s claim as an “inaccurate” account of what transpired.

The entertainer said contrary to Isreal’s post, there was no contractual agreement between her and Zlatan over the production of ‘Gelato’.

She thereafter vowed to sue him for “libel and defamation.”

“For the record… There have been no breaches of my contractual agreement regarding the song #Gelato as confirmed by lawyers… However, as @IsrealDMW publicly inaccurately declared I owe an artist money, I am suing him for libel and defamation! See you in court Isreal,” she wrote.
