The clash was a determinant factor for the film to premiere this year between the sequel of ‘A Tribe Called Judah’ and ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’.
With the cast of the new project winning the encounter, Akindele announced the ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ release date.
The cast members of the film include Omowumi Dada, Nancy Isime, Falz, Stan Nze, and Jackie Appiah.
The new project is coined from ‘Jenifa’s Diary’, a television comedy series created by Akindele in 2015.
‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ is part of the Jenifa franchise which tells the tale of a naive and funny character of the same name.
The franchise began in 2008 with the first installment and a sequel titled ‘Return of Jenifa’ in 2011.
The franchise also spawned spin-offs like ‘Aiyetoro Town’ (2019, 18 episodes) set in Jenifa’s village, and ‘Jenifa on Lockdown’ (2021).
Akindele rose to prominence in 2008 for her movie ‘Jenifa’, which gained commercial success.
With a slew of awards and accolades, she has established herself as one of the prominent names in Nollywood.
