Everybody Loves Jenifa’, the highly anticipated film by Funke Akindele, is set to premiere in cinemas in 30 countries.

In a post via X on Wednesday, the filmmaker announced that the movie’s international release is made possible through a collaboration with Nile Entertainment, a distribution company.

She said the film will be screened in cinemas in countries across the six continents from December 20 to January 17.

The continents listed include Europe, North America, Australia, Africa and Asia.

“My Jenifans worldwide. We heard you, and @theNileentertainment delivered as we proudly announce the international theatrical distribution of Everybody Loves Jenifa to 6 continents, 30 countries,” the post reads.

‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ is scheduled to debut in Nigeria on December 13.

The film is part of the Jenifa franchise which tells the tale of a naive and funny character of the same name.

The new franchise features movie stars and skit makers including Layi Wasabi, Nancy Isime, Jackie Appiah, Falz, Omowunmi Dada, Chimezie Imo, Patience Ozokwor, and Stan Nze.

The franchise began in 2008 with the first installment and a sequel titled ‘Return of Jenifa’ in 2011.

The franchise also spawned spin-offs like ‘Aiyetoro Town’ (2019, 18 episodes) set in Jenifa’s village, and ‘Jenifa on Lockdown’ (2021).

On Tuesday, the cast members of ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ teamed up for a festive song titled ‘Everybody Loves Christmas’.
