The award event had in attendance Hollywood royalty and some of the crème de la crème of the global entertainment industry.

‘Everything Everywhere All at Once,’ the sci-fi movie from Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, won most of the top categories, including ‘Best Picture’ and ‘Directing’.

Rihanna was nominated in the ‘Best Original Song’ category at the 2023 Oscar Awards for her Black Panther: Wakanda Forever‘ track ‘Lift Me Up‘.

The Barbadian singer co-wrote the song with Tems, producer Ludwig Göransson, and director Ryan Coogler.

The artistes wrote the single as a tribute to Chadwick Boseman, the ‘Black Panther’ actor who died in 2020.

The 35-year-old, however, lost her category to ‘Naatu Naatu’ a song by Kaala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj, the Bajan superstar.

‘Naatu Naatu’ is an Indian Telugu-language song recorded for the soundtrack album of the 2022 Indian film ‘RRR’.
