Chadwick Boseman, the late US actor; and John Boyega, Nigerian-British film star, have won big at the 2021 Golden Globes.

After being shifted from January to February 28, 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 78th Golden Globes Awards held on Sunday night.

It was hosted by Tina Fey, from the Rainbow Room in Rockefeller Center in New York; and Amy Poehler, from the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.

At the award ceremony, Chloe Zhao’s ‘Nomadland’ and Sacha Baron Cohen’s ‘Borat Subsequent Moviefilm’ won the categories ‘Best Film Director’ and ‘Best Actor in Film’ respectively while the movie ‘Soul’ also got multiple prizes.

Chadwick Boseman, Jodie Foster, ‘Minari’, Andra Day, and Daniel Kaluuya also received honors.

John Boyega landed a win in the ‘Best Supporting Actor in a TV Series’ category with his role in the 2020 drama ‘Small Axe’.

In television, ‘The Queen’s Gambit’, ‘The Crown’ and ‘Schitt’s Creek’ won the night’s top TV awards while roles in ‘Small Axe’ and ‘Ted Lasso’ were also honoured.
