FULL LIST: Emmanuella beats Ikorodu Bois to Nickelodeon award

Emmanuella, Nigerian comedienne, has won the ‘Favourite African Social Media Star’ category at the 2021 Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards.

The 10-year-old entertainer snagged the gong ahead of Ikorodu Bois, a Nigerian e-comedy group that mimics music videos and trailers, also nominated for the category.

Mo Salah, Egyptian and Liverpool footballer, won the ‘Favourite African Star’ category of the award ceremony broadcast on Monday.

Justin Bieber, who topped nominations with five entries, won two of the categories including ‘Favourite Male Artist’.

In her reaction, Emanuella expressed excitement at winning the award while appreciating fans for supporting her.

“I am so happy to be a winner, thank you! To all my fans out there, [I say] thank you. To all those who voted for me, I love you so much, this win would not have been possible without you,” she said.

In 2018, Emmanuella and Davido had lost the ‘Favourite African Star’ category of the awards to Eddy Kenzo, Ugandan musician.

Also known as the KCAs, the annual US children awards produced by Nickelodeon, an American television channel, recognises the year’s biggest TV, movie, and music acts as voted by viewers of Nickelodeon networks worldwide.
