The family of Sola Awojobi Onayiga, the late Nigerian actress, has announced her burial arrangements.

Onayiga, who was famous for her role as ‘Ireti’ in the now-defunct family drama Fuji House of Commotion, died on July 18.

Husseini Shaibu, the movie and culture critic, shared a flier containing details of her funeral arrangements via his Instagram page.

In the flier, it was revealed that Onayiga’s funeral will commence with night of tributes on August 16 in the National Theatre, Lagos.

The service of songs will follow on August 18 in the Ikorodu axis of Lagos state.

The ace actress would then be buried the next day.

In a post accompanying the flier, Shaibu revealed that the night of tributes is organised by the National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP) and committee of friends.

“The fiery actress of the stage and screen Ireti Sola Onayiga nee Awojobi aka Catering Practicals will be buried on Friday, August 19 in Ikorodu, Lagos State,” he wrote.

“Tribute night organised by @NANTAPnig and a committee of friends is on August 16. Join us to bid Auntie Sola farewell. See this poster for details. Journey Well Auntie Sola who calls me ‘My Brother’!”

Apart from being an actress, she also doubled as a politician in 2015.

She was the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate for the Lagos state house of assembly Ikorodu constituency 1.
