As expected, the show’s fifth week was not without controversies.

Here’s a recap of major events that happened last week at the BBNaija ‘Level Up’ house.

First female HoH win

During the week, Chomzy became the first female to win the much-coveted Head of House (HoH) since this year’s edition of the show started.

The HoH race has largely been dominated by male housemates. Eloswag secured the position in the first and fourth weeks respectively.

Hermes won the HoH title for week two while Adekunle clinched it for the third week.

Can the female housemates sustain the momentum for the sixth week? Time will tell.

Biggie’s eviction twist

The fifth week witnessed an eviction twist that sent Modella packing from the show.

During the live eviction show, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the host, revealed that Modella was a fake housemate to the remaining contestants and announced her eviction.

The eviction came as a shock as the organisers of the show had revealed there would be no eviction for the week.

Modella was brought in during the second week of the show alongside Deji, who is also a fake contestant.

Sanctions

During the fifth week, Biggie sanctioned some housemates for acts considered to be a violation of laid down rules in the ‘Level Up’ house.

Amaka was banned from using the kitchen’s brand-new microwave for a week after she almost burnt the house.

This came after the 23-year-old left the kitchen to tend to the garden despite having a meat pie dough in the oven with a 20-minute timer.

Chichi was also punished for destroying Diana’s properties during a heated confrontation.

Biggie handed the dancer an exercise book and asked her to fill all pages with “I will not destroy the property of my fellow housemates”.

Similarly, Sheggz and Bella, the lovebirds, were reprimanded for sabotaging their teammates during tasks when not paired.

The show’s instructive voice warned that their attitude to tasks when not paired together would no longer be tolerated.

Fights and rising tempers

Like week four, the show’s fifth week was characterised by several clashes involving the housemates. During the week, Phyna, Sheggz, Amaka, and Bryann engaged themselves in confrontations and almost got physical if not for the intervention of other housemates.
