The Federal Government has said it is doing everything possible to make sure the economy bounces back from recession.
Chiedu Mafiana, professor and deputy executive secretary, National Universities Commissions (NUC) said this on Saturday at the 32nd convocation ceremony at Unilorin.
Mafiana, who was a representative of the president, said recession is not peculiar to Nigeria, noting that several other countries are currently in dire need of economic resuscitation.
He said recession came about as a result of Nigeria’s dependency on oil alone, corruption, improper planning and its people’s love for foreign-made products.
Buhari’s representative said a better Nigeria would be achieved once Nigerians (especially the youths) are able and willing to change their attitude and value of doing things.
He added that students and lecturers should be ready to take responsibility as this would help the country achieve its goal.
