Ali Baba, Simi, Mercy Johnson, and Femi Adebayo are among the Nigerian celebrities who marked this year’s Father’s Day.

Though the date differs across the globe, Father’s Day is held annually to honour fatherhood and paternal bonds, as well as the influence of fathers in society.

Nigerian celebrities were not left out as they took to their separate social media pages on Sunday to celebrate themselves, their husbands, and their fathers on the special occasion.

Ali Baba, the comedian, penned a note to himself and all the fathers in the world, asking God to continually bless “us with the breath of life, great health, and prosperity”.

“Happy Father’s Day to all father’s out there. God please let our seeds germinate to let us earn this fatherhood title. May we not be found wanting in the time of fatherhood,” he wrote.

“May our steps be ordered in the directions of being in the position to play that role as expected. May the challenges of life not cut us short of our tasks as fathers.

“And to our Almighty Father in heaven, continue to bless us with the breath of life, great health, prosperity and favor..to enable us be worthy of the responsibility you have given us.”

On his part, Femi Adebayo shared a photo of himself and Adebayo Salami, his father, to celebrate the occasion.

“Here is to wishing every awesome father out there a Happy Father’s Day. You deserve a medal, You’re a hero. Thank you all for being wonderful,” he wrote.

Mercy Johnson heaped praises on Odi Okojie, her husband. She also thanked him for his sacrifices and love.

“He is a nice easy going man no noise, no cruise and no drama. Happy Father’s Day to fine boy. @theokojiekids love you dearly. God bless you for your sacrifices and love,” she wrote.

“You got them and you know. Omiojie, odor menor wose, obulu abba. Obulu my love. Osenobhla repae. Eni esan did I try?”

Simi hailed Adekunle Gold, saying his constant and steady love is “unmatched.”

“Happy Father’s Day baby. Your  constant and steady love is unmatched. Deja adores you and who can blame her,” she wrote.
