Femi Fani-Kayode, ex-minister of aviation, says Usifo Ataga, Super TV CEO, didn’t deserve to be killed.

Ataga was found in a pool of his blood after he was stabbed to death.

On Tuesday, Chidinma Ojukwu, a 300-level mass communication student at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), with whom Ataga lodged in a hotel where he died, was arrested for inflicting the stab wounds that claimed his life.

Chidinma, who was paraded at the state police command, had narrated the squabble that led to Ataga’s death. She alleged that the businessman forcefully had sex with her.

In a series of Twitter posts on Saturday, Fani-Kayode defended Ataga and criticised those whom he said were rationalising the Super TV CEO’s murder.

The ex-minister said Ataga didn’t deserve to be “butchered in cold blood”.

“Usifo Ataga was butchered in cold blood. The fact that he went to a hotel to sleep with a 21-year-old woman does not mean he deserves to be butchered,” the ex-minister tweeted.

“He was slaughtered and gutted like a barbecue pig in an abattoir and his blood was drained simply because he has a high libido and a weakness for women.

“Some people are now trying to rationalise his murder and justify it and they are claiming that he “deserved what he got!” This is utterly shameful.”

Fani Kayode demanded justice for the deceased, noting that it would serve as a deterrent for other women.
