Recently, Instagram announced a new update to its app – which represents what an article on Forbes referred to as a ‘final nail in the coffin for Snapchat’.

That wasn’t the first time that Facebook (the social media giant that owns Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp) had tried to push Snapchat out of business by copying and pasting some of the app’s features.

It is rumoured that Facebook made a play to buy Snapchat in the early days, but the creators refused to sell, choosing to stand on their own rather than become another fancy product under Facebook.

While the battle still rages on, here all the times Facebook tried to push Snapchat out of business.
