Charles Awurum, the Nollywood actor, says he doesn’t get offended when people call him ugly.

In a video shared via his Instagram page, the comic actor said he doesn’t consider “ugly” as an insult — but sees it as a compliment.

Awurum said what actually gets him offended is when he is told he is handsome.

“Make una look me well well, if person see me say he wan insult me tell me say oga you ugly, abeg make una tell me na curse be that?” he said in Pidgin English.

“Na when you tell me say oga you too fine, na when I go talk say you dey walk me and na that time I go vex. If you tell me say I ugly, you dey compliment me.”

Awurum is popular for his comic roles in movies. He has also featured in a plethora of Nollywood movies.

The film star has always made the news over his opinions on happenings in the country’s political landscape.

In July, he called on Nigerians to vote during the 2023 election.

He also added that “God will punish anyone who doesn’t vote.”
