Etinosa Idemudia has narrated how domestic abuse and fertility troubles ended her first marriage.
The actress, in a chat with the media entrepreneur Chude Jideonwo, recounted her fallout with her first ex-husband.
Etinosa said she got married at 22 but her marriage would later experience fertility troubles and domestic abuse.
“I just got married. I did not know anything. If not for all those experiences, I would probably still be a regular engineer wife with maybe 3 children, or none because he was diagnosed with a health challenge I will not mention,” she said.
“They said, ‘Do not worry, do not lose hope, you can treat it but you need to stop some kind of habits that might hinder your treatment’. Instead of just focusing on the solution, [he was] just trying to bully the other person.
“No! I actually truly want to be there for you. Can you take your drugs? He will not take his drugs nor stop the habit, so I spoke to his elder brother. It now turned to, ‘So you are going to narrate our story to the whole world’.
“That was what landed me in the clinic actually. There was one time his superior came and said the neighbours told him that it was abuse and he wants to take up the case. And I said, ‘Okay yeah fine’.”
Etinosa has been married twice, first to one Babatunde Solomon who was said to be a military man.
In 2021, it was reported that her second marriage to a lawyer partner similarly crashed after eight months.
“I’m grateful for my experience in life because these things make a person who they are,” Etinosa told Chude.
