Erhiga Agarivbie, Nigerian rapper better known as Erigga, has tied the knot with Morenike, his long-time girlfriend, in a traditional wedding ceremony.

The 33-year-old singer, who had earlier fixed the wedding event for October 3, took to his Twitter page on Friday to announce that he has gotten married to his sweetheart.

It is understood that the traditional ceremony held in Ughelli, Warri and was graced by family members and friends.

“Whenever there’s a big story in the media, look for the story they’re trying to distract you from… I got married to my love,” he wrote.

Born on March 30, 1987, Erigga kick-started his music career back in 2010. Since then, he has continued to pull the weights of fame in the Nigerian music industry with his many hit tracks.

In 2017, he dropped his album ‘A Trip To The South’ while ‘Motivation’, his single, came after in 2018.

Erigga has won several awards while also collaborating with a league of prominent music heavyweights including Olamide, Orezi, Skales, Duncan Mighty, M.I Abaga and Ice Prince.

He had made headlines for his political commentaries bordering on Africa. In March, Erigga observed that the continent needs to tackle “colonial virus” after the coronavirus pandemic.

“After coronavirus, we also need to tackle colonial virus (religion) in Africa. Church gathering was banned your safety and you’re protesting, spewing trash,” the Delta-born rapper had written.
