Eniola Badmus, a Nollywood actress, says she’s “somehow” enjoying the ongoing lockdown, adding that it has allowed her time to think up new ideas for work.

As COVID-19 continues to ravage the world, economies have witnessed a shortfall in earnings as industries and individual firms are ordered to remain shut in order to contain the novel coronavirus.

Badmus, who came into limelight after she featured in ‘Jenifa’, a 2008 film, joined her celebrities colleagues, who have been baring their thoughts on the pandemic and industry operations.

“Somehow, I’ve been enjoying the lockdown. But I pray it gets called off on time. Ever since, I’ve been at home, trying new things. I’ve come up with different ideas for work,” she said in a clip shared on Instagram.

Badmus’ statement comes about the same time when Gloria Young, a veteran actress, expressed concerns that entertainers might go hungry if they don’t look for alternative ways to work amid the current restrictions on social gatherings.

“The COVID-19 pandemic affected all forms of the economy, including the entertainment sector which is one of the greatest employers of labour that had been greatly affected,” she had said.

“Though all productions of films and radio had been put on hold, however, we still hold internet meetings to plan the way forward for sustenance.

“When the pandemic is over, our lives won’t be the same again. We hope to use the internet more in subsequent productions, following the current experiences we’re passing through.”
