Comedy star, Emmanuella, and music superstar, Davido, have been nominated in the ‘favourite African star’ category of the 2018 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
Emmanuella’s nomination comes weeks after the internet was abuzz with the news of her involvement in a Disney movie project.
Davido, on the other hand, has released a couple of commercially successful songs in 2018, a trend which persisted throughout 2017.
The seven-year-old comic-actor and self-acclaimed Omo Baba Olowo (OBO) make up two of the six nominees in the category.
Others in competition for the award are Casper Nyovest (South Africa), Caster Somonya (South Africa), Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania), and Eddy Konzo (Uganda).
The winner is determined by voter preferences and other considerations.
Two of the nominees in the category, Davido and Capser Nyovest, recently released a collaboration titled ‘Check on You’ produced by Fresh VDM.
Work on the collaborative song took place when the South African hip-hop artiste visited Nigeria a few months ago.
