Hollywood actress Emma Stone is 2017’s highest-paid actress, according to Forbes.
The 28-years-old’s portrayal of Mia, an aspiring actress and barista, in ‘La La Land’ landed her good ratings that enabled the movie to make $445.3 million at the global box office.
This, in turn, skyrocketed Stone’s earnings from the movie-musical, banking $26 million pre-tax in a one year.
Stone, who won best actress Academy Awards for her role in the movie, beat 48-year-old Jennifer Aniston who was at number two position with earnings of $25.5 million.
Former top-ranked earner Jennifer Lawrence was third with $24 million, Melissa McCarthy who made $18 million was fourth while Mila Kunis was in fifth place with $15.5 million.
Earnings estimates are based on data from Nielsen, ComScore, Box Office Mojo and IMDB, as well as interviews with industry insiders.
The list examined actresses the world over, but no movie stars from Asia and Africa made the cut.
