Suzanne Emma, the ex-wife of Emeka Ike, has insisted that she allegedly endured physical abuse during their marriage.
In 2017, a Lagos Island customary court dissolved their 17-year-old marriage over incessant battery.
Revisiting the matter last week, Ike alleged that Suzanne made him lose his properties worth millions.
The actor also denied ever beating his former wife. He claimed she orchestrated false accusations of assault, leading to the dissolution of their marriage and the closure of his “N480 million investment”.
But sharing her side of the story in a recent chat on the #WithChude podcast, Suzanne recounted how Ike allegedly punched her when she took their daughter to the hospital for treatment.
She said they were broke and had no money to pay for their child’s medical bills, hence the reason she tried to negotiate with the hospital.
“There was a time we went to the hospital, my child was sick and we did not have money. And I was trying to negotiate with the hospital to treat the child and we will pay later,” she said.
“It was taking a little bit of time and he just came in and he was yelling at me ‘You are a fool. You do not know how to do things. What is wrong with these people? You can not even talk to them. Who are they? They are beneath you. You are allowing them to do this and do that’.
“And I got up and said why are you being a jerk. And I went off into the car to sit down. Immediately he was coming into the car, his punch was the first thing I was seeing on my jaw.”
Suzanne also claimed Ike said she was the reason behind his abusiveness.
“There was a time he had finished beating me. And I was on the floor looking at him. And then he was walking away and then he looked at me. He came back and he was like ‘it is not me. It is you making me do it’,” she added.
