Before going into the Big Brother Naija house, winner Efe Ejeba was actively pursuing a career in music.
He was an upcoming rapper who had no other career path but music.
After his involvement in the Big Brother Naija reality show, Nigerians started to pay attention to the recordings of the once-obscure budding artiste.
The fame, originality and likability factor endeared him to many Nigerians, hence they went digging for his songs.
Although the feedback from music critics hasn’t been favourable, Efe says music is all he’s interested in pursuing.
Speaking on a radio show on Soundcity FM, Efe said, “It is music” and nothing else.
When asked for the reason behind his conviction, he said: “Because that is what I was doing before the house and I have been doing it for the past seven years.”
He continued: “I was doing it because it is what I love to do. I went to school because it was obligatory. It was a societal obligation that you need to go to school.
“But that was not what was in my mind. Music has been in my mind. I did it from my 100 level to 400 level.”
Efe added that he came to Lagos to pursue a career in music “immediately” after his final examination in the university.
Singer, Ycee, recently advised the Big Brother Naija winner against investing the entirety of his N25m prize money in music.
Efe performed his single ‘Thank God’ during the 2017 edition of the AY Live comedy and music show.
The ex-reality TV star shot his first music video ‘Their Fada’ in 2015.
