Eedris Abdulkareem, Nigerian singer, has reacted to the removal of Muhammadu Sanusi II, as the emir of Kano.
Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of the state, had on Monday approved the destoolment of Sanusi, for “total disrespect to the office of the governor”.
The state executive council chaired by Ganduje stated that the removal was reached in order to safeguard the sanctity, culture, tradition, religion and prestige of the emirate.
Aminu Bayero, son of the late Ado Bayero and emir of Bichi, would later be installed as his replacement.
Sanusi’s dethronement had gotten many talking on social media.
Joining the fray, the ‘Nigeria Jaga Jaga’ crooner pointed out that it was unfortunate that the emir’s removal was effected by a governor allegedly caught for corruption.
Abdulkareem said it was ironical that Sanusi who “accused Jonathan’s government of corruption” with no evidence, would eventually be ousted by a government, which according to him, was filmed engaging in shady deals.
“Dear Sanusi Lamido, a corrupt man caught stuffing dollars into his Babariga removed you from office!” he wrote on Instagram.

“It’s an unfortunate situation but this is the price you have to pay for championing the Jonathan is Corrupt cause with no evidence but propaganda.
“Today, you are witnessing the real corruption! Goodluck! May Ubeku.”
The deposed emir had on Tuesday morning accepted his removal, describing it as the will of God. He also enjoined the people to support the newly installed emir.
