In 2023, Victony said the COVID-19 lockdown allowed him to switch from Hip-Hop music to Afrobeats.

He said although he finds Afrobeats more challenging, he wanted to try something new.

Victony recently spoke about the rapper Olamide’s impact on the debut album.

He said the YBNL label head honcho encouraged him to release ‘Stubborn’ as an album.
