Inetimi Odon, the Nigerian singer better known as Timaya, has put out a new single titled ‘No Pressure’.
The song, which is accompanied by a music video, was put out on Friday across all streaming platforms.
In the less three minutes track, the Bayelsa-born artiste sings about ridding himself from the deflating feeling that comes with pressure.
He also purrs his Afro-Soca sound sonorously on the anchors of the drum percussions and background trumpet to give off a danceable tune that has been his trademark.
The colourful video opens with the artiste struggling while trapped in a water tank. The imagery of the water and his drowning body lent a great interpretation of the song’s preachings.
“Me no want nothing gimme pressure/ Something to cool my blood pressure/ Me no want nothing gimme pressure/ Something wey go cool my blood pressure,” he sings in the chorus.
The song was released a few days after Timaya was embroiled in a hit and run incident that resulted in his alleged arrest.
Osinubi Damilola, a Lagos-based woman, narrated how the singer had “zoomed off, knocked me down and left me in a pool of blood” after confronting him for damaging her car while driving on oneway in the Ikate axis of the state.
The ‘Dem Mama’ crooner denied the allegation but would later apologise in a statement.
