The third posthumous single of Sound Sultan, the late Nigerian singer, titled ‘Street OT’, has been released.
The song which was put out on the third anniversary of the singer’s death features Ice Prince and DJ ShabzyAce.
NowMuzik, the talent management company, announced the song’s release via an Instagram post on Thursday.
Produced by ID Cabasa, the music firm described ‘Street OT’ as a continuation of Sultan’s “legacy”.
“@soundsultan’s legacy continues with the release of another posthumous record titled Street OT. The track features rapper @iceprincezamani and new kid on the block @dj_shabzyace,” the post reads.
“The track is produced by long term collaborator and friend, the ever present ID Cabasa. The release commemorates the 3rd anniversary of the multi talented artiste’s passing on July 11, 2021.”
In 2022, NowMuzik put out ‘Reality Chq‘, Sultan’s first posthumous song. This was followed by the release of ‘Money Race’, another single featuring Spyro in 2023.
Sultan died on July 11, 2021, at 44 — after a four-year battle with blood cancer.
The singer’s career in show business started in the 90s when he hosted shows to raise money for studio sessions.
By 1999, he had won numerous local talent-hunt shows.
Under Kennis Music, Sultan delivered four albums. As his contract with the label expired in 2007, he partnered with Baba Dee to start Naija Ninjas, a parent organisation for a record label, production outfit, and clothing line.
