Remilekun Safaru, a Nigerian rapper-songwriter better known as Reminisce, has come through with ‘Toxic’, his highly anticipated single.
Reminisce announced the release of the project featuring Adekunle Gold on his social media pages in the early hours of Wednesday.
The less than three-minute song sees the singers crooning about their helplessness in the face of extreme display of affections from their lovers.
“I know you want to show me something. Don’t be shy girl let it loose. Baby girl, this your love this poison… the way your killing me so, you know this love is toxic..,” they could be heard singing.
“Organs after organs, shutting me down Am trying to compensate, you shutting me out. I need to breath, You choking me to death. You’re poison in the veins, toxic…”
The project is said to be a track off his yet-to-be-revealed body of work.
“I love how singers bring words to life tru music & I always wanted to do a Rapper/Singer project. Finally that dream is becoming a reality. Let me introduce you to the 1st song off that project, ft Ogbontarigi Olorin & Fellow Manutd Fan @adekunleGOLD with the tu si! #TOXIC,” he wrote on Twitter.

It also comes after the success recorded by ‘Vibes & Insha Allah‘, his extended play (EP), released in July.
The ‘Ogaranya‘ singer has established himself as a household name in the Nigerian music industry since he rode to spotlight with ‘Ever since’ and ‘If Only’, his first and second singles.
With four albums to his name, the rapper has snagged multiple awards, worked with notable musicians across Nigerian, and made a slew of critically acclaimed tracks.
