Jude ‘MI’ Abaga, the Nigerian rapper, has come through with ‘The Guy’, the lead track off his forthcoming album with the same title.

The music star announced the song’s release via his social media pages on Friday.

In the less than four-minute project, MI croons about his distinct personality in the music industry and how it made him to stand out from others.

He also reflects on his past beef with Vector, another rapper, adding that they are now on good terms.

“I’m the guy for all seasons, on the stage or board meetings… Me and Vector are cool even though we don’t chat daily…” he raps.

MI had earlier announced that the forthcoming project, which happens to be his seventh album, will be released on August 19.

The rapper has established himself as a household name in Africa.

He has also received an avalanche of awards and recognition. In 2009, he snagged the Best Hip Hop Act category at the MTV Africa Music Awards.

Earlier this month, MI put out a joint studio album alongside AQ, Loose Kaynon, and Blaqbonez titled ‘Behold the Lamb’.

In April, the rapper urged his fans to anticipate a “classic body of work” which might win the Grammys.

“And now that that’s is all over…music coming soon. Now I can focus so I release this album properly,” he had written.
