Mariah Carey, the award-winning US pop singer, has come through with ‘Fall in Love at Christmas’, her latest single.

The 52-year-old musician announced the release of the project featuring Khalid and Kirk Franklin via her social media pages in the early hours of Friday.

In the soulful song, Carey croons about the serenity, love, and ecstatic atmosphere that usually characterise the Christmas season.

She also examines how beautiful it is to fall in love during the season.

“A daze, a cold. Here a mess, a traps of snow // Just a metaphor of us // So, many Christmases ago // We had a love, so deep // Just like the joy in the season greetings // So let’s fall in love again this Christmas night,” the song’s lyrics read.

“And every Christmas I’ll be there // This time of year we won’t throw away // We gotta fall in love again at Christmas time // And all the angels in the sky // Shine down on us as we roll by // We gotta fall in love again at Christmas time.”

The music star also dropped a colourful video for the project.

In the less than six-minute video, Carey and Khalid were seen together like two lovers on a date while professing love for each other.
