The track, released on Friday across all streaming platforms, features Bella Shmurda, Ajebo Hustlers, and Ayo Maff and delivers a nostalgic yet fresh take on the Afro-pop anthem.

The new rendition stays true to the original’s reflective theme, with the artistes paying homage to their humble beginnings while acknowledging life’s unpredictable turns.

Despite their distinct musical styles, Shmurda’s street-hop energy, Hustlers’ witty lyricism, and Maff’s smooth vocals blend seamlessly over ID Cabasa’s signature production.

The track’s catchy hook retains the essence of 9ice’s version while infusing contemporary Afrobeats and street-pop elements.

“Deeper than the sea/ Deeper than the ocean/ Wetin I don see/ I no fit to mention/ Mummy tell me my boy take caution/ Omo ileyo/ Buy my bread no butter/ Bigi and I’m a bouncer/ Where no bread no butter/ Teslim say I’m a dancer/Anytime the rain is falling/ Me and mummy she la mama gbonmi,” they sing.

Accompanied by vibrant visuals, the song is a celebration of growth, resilience, and the hustle — a message that resonates deeply in today’s music scene.

Born Olumide Ogunade, ID Cabasa has long been a powerhouse in Nigerian music, producing timeless hits for artists like 9ice, Olamide, and Reminisce.

His recent releases continue to bridge generations, including ‘Olufunmi’ (2024), a remake of Styl Plus’ 2006 classic, featuring Fireboy DML, Joeboy, and Odumodublvck.
