Burna Boy, Nigerian Afro-fusion singer, has come through with ‘20:10:20’, a powerful and politically motivated single.

’20:10:20′, which is derived from the date of the Lekki shooting, is a song that examines the ordeals of Nigerians in the hands of the government.

It also looks into the shooting of unarmed #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki toll gate by men of the Nigerian army on October 20, 2020.

In the less than four-minute track, the ‘Ye’ crooner expresses his displeasure and pain towards such act while sending a strong-worded message to the Nigerian president, Lagos governor and a certain political godfather in the state.

“20th of October 2020, you carry army go kill many youth for Lekki. Na so WATER OOO WATER runaway my eyes. Nothing you go talk wey go justify the case of thеir murder. The chief of staff, thе commander and the army wey carry order. Mr President, Mr Governor, Godfather, gbo gbo IJOBA. All your atrocity. All of your corner corner. Make all the DEADBODY disturb you for your dream,” he could be heard singing in pidgin English.

In a post on his Twitter page on Friday, the award-winning singer also paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the shooting.

“In loving memory and respect,” he wrote.
