The skit maker announced the release of the song — which translates to “give thanks” — via social media on Friday.

In a post via Instagram, Shaggi revealed the song is inspired by the challenges he faced last year.

He added that the challenges changed his perspective on life, reinforcing the importance of gratitude, which he expresses in ‘Dupe’.

“Last year for me was a roller coaster of emotions, from losing a family to almost losing my life on a movie set,” he wrote.

“But with all, it’s changed my perspective about life in general and reasons why constantly paying gratitude to my creator is important.

“Dupe is a song written from my heart and I would love everyone who listens to take the message to heart. Gratitude is a must.”
