The ‘Murder In The USA’ crooner announced the release of her first single of the year on social media on Friday.

This comes after the release of ‘Lucid’, her fourth studio album, on October 11, 2019.

The less than 3-minute single paints a picture of a female lover eloping with her partner.

Asa, like always, delivers brilliant tailored lyrics but on a mid-paced Colombia samba beat.

“Let’s go away, in the night when the lights out, let’s go away.. You and I, we will live here forever, you will need mine forever,” she sings on the soft and pop-like beat.

Before ‘Lucid’, Asa, who also sings in French, has put out projects like ‘Bed of Stone’ (2014), ‘Beautiful Imperfection’ (2011), and ‘Asa’ which was released in 2007.

The 39-year-old singer, whose real name is Bukola Elemide, released ‘Eyé Adaba’, her first single, in 2006.

Shortly after the single, she signed to Naive Records, a Paris-based independent record label. Asa soon partnered with Cobhams Asuquo, Nigerian singer and record producer, who she had met through Janet Nwose, her manager.

After ‘Asa’ her debut album went platinum in 2008, she was voted best fresh talent of 10 singers or groups by a jury of 19 music-industry specialists in Paris.
