Nigerian entertainers have condemned the attack on #EndSARS protesters in Lagos state by thugs.
Earlier, armed hoodlums dispelled youths protesting police brutality at the Lagos state assembly gate in Ikeja.
The incident comes a day after protesters were attacked in Abuja and an ARISE TV camera smashed.
The development has attracted criticism from public figures across social media platforms, particularly on Twitter.
Yemi Alade, a Nigerian Afropop singer, said it was unfortunate that youths were deployed against their colleagues fighting for a better society.
We can never understand, Armed thugs in a government owned bus, fighting the same youth trying to change the narrative, what a shame. @jidesanwoolu #EndBadGoveranceInNigeria#EndSARS #EndSWAT #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigeria pic.twitter.com/cBww3inQEA

Mr Macaroni, a comedian, said the incident suggests that Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the state governor, had failed to make good his promise of protecting protesters peacefully airing their grievances.
Mr Governor @jidesanwoolu , you said that we were free to protest peacefully and that no harm would come to us. Now look at what is happening right in your territory! It happened yesterday, it is happening today. We are being attacked!! Kudos sir!!! #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigeria

Close colleagues of mine at Alausa just confirmed that thugs just came to disrupt their peaceful protest. Please spread the word. Our right to peaceful protest will not be taken away. Why use violence against peaceful protestors?
